I loved the location. It was only about 100+ metres from Porto beach in the Barra district. On Sunday, this area comes alive with lots of locals and domestic tourists along the Porto and Farol beaches. There were quite a number of cafes and restaurants. The hotel is not easy to spot from the street because it's only the width of a doorway and the sign is quite faded. The adjacent waffles shop is what catches the eye. Check-in was smooth though no one spoke a word of English. Translation app was needed. There was an elevator to the rooms. The room was simple with a window looking out to sea (over the rooftops of the cafes). The mattress was of the foam type, so somewhat firm. There was a mini-refrigerator (not stocked, which is what I prefer) and a desk. Unfortunately, there was only one power point. Lighting was OK, but it came from only one ceiling lamp. No table lamp at the desk. Wifi was OK in the room, but strangely, no wifi on the ground floor and breakfast room. The airconditioner worked quietly and temperature setting was precise (though I didn't use it much since the weather outside was so beautiful during my stay). The bathroom fixtures looked relatively new and were in good working order. Water pressure was good, hot water took a little while to flow through but not too long. Drainage was good. Breakfast was a little below satisfactory, mostly because there was too much emphasis on sweet pastries (common in many Brazilian hotels). Hot items: scrambled eggs and sausages. No salad, but there was fruit. Don't recall seeing any yogurt. Opposite the hotel is a supermarket and a laundromat. Very convenient. I didn't have reason to use the laundromat so I don't know if it is easy for foreigners without knowing Portuguese to get through the steps. At the supermarket were ATMs too, but when I tried to withdraw some cash from my foreign credit cards, the ATM didn't recognise the cards, so maybe it's only for local cards.

We have stayed here before, and this time we were given a room with a very small shower. The air conditioning works well and is reasonably quiet. However, if your room is on one of the upper floors, you might experience some wait times for the lift, which is quite small. On the upside, staying on a higher floor means you won’t hear the noise from the reception area. The staff are friendly, though their English is somewhat limited. The hotel is conveniently located near the beach and local restaurants. Overall, I would stay here again.

Location is excellent. A few minutes from the beach only, with many shops, bars and supermarkets nearby. Hotel staff try to accommodate your needs regardless. A special thank you to the receptionist Alberto, who helped me with tours and others requests with extreme professionalism and care.

The room is simple but very nicely designed, nice towels and bed linen. The staff was great, the only thing I would recommend is a better inspection on the cleaning. Was tidy but I found pubic hair on the shower soap support, other than that was a great stay, I would recommend!

Big spacious room with good air conditioning. Staff was nice and friendly. They let us do an early check in which was great. Location was good. Safe neighbourhood. Big supermarket across the road. Very close to beach and not too far from old city.
